Description
The portrait may be a pendant to RN78 due to the similarity of the painter’s technique and the comparable size of the canvas. The sitter wears a white undergarment with tucker and a red dress held together at her left shoulder with three pearls. A green shawl is draped over her right arm and her right hand points towards her other shoulder. The whole is set within a feigned oval. The artist is unknown but is likely to have painted RN78, which may depict a sister, relative or close friend.
