A possible clue to her identity is provided by the coat of arms in the upper right corner. Although it has yet to be identified, a speculation is that it might relate in some way to the city of Amsterdam, which has a coat of arms featuring three silver crosses of St Andrew on a red ground. by Martin Postle Related catalogue items from Doddington Hall Doddington Hall James I of England and VI of Scotland studio of John de Critz the Elder, ? c.1610 Doddington Hall The Orange Accompanied by Little Victory English School, after 1666–7 Doddington Hall Sarah Hussey Delaval as a Shepherdess follower of Philip Mercier, c.1750
